After ups and downs
from first semester online journalism students, dedication kept them going. On
the 3rd of August 2022 Mrs. Govender-Bateman, Multimedia Journalism 1
and 2 lecturer hosted Online Practical Awards at Tshwane University of Technology
(TUT) North Campus.
These awards were awarded to top stories from group 1 and 2 who were doing their practical first semester. Mrs Govender-Bateman highlighted that those recipients ticked being active and quality of work submitted boxes.

Mr. Raraza who is
currently doing TV practicals, mentioned three steps he used on his online
practical that led him to be the top student.
*Checked and applied
how established journalists from the industry works.
*Took tips from the
editor.
*Enjoyed his work.
Mrs Govender-Bateman then awarded and
thanked Miss Zanele Mbengo, who is a deputy editor and student assistant. She
did not only leave a smile on Miss Mbengo’s face but the full house too and
could not agree more.
A link below is an audio of Mr. Malwande
Ndzimande who is one of the inspired Journalism students by the awards.
