MY NICHE IS DANCE

 WHO IS LEECORE BLACK?

Leecore Black is a visionary, a dreamer, a professional when it comes to my work.

WHAT/WHO INSPIRED YOU?

I've always been passionate about the entertainment industry from a very young age, I've always imagined myself in some big stages one day.

I have quite a number of influences, my first inspiration for performing was actually a number of gospel artists like the late Malibongwe Gcwabe, Lusanda Mcinga and many more.

-Actual used to play dress up and perform their music in my living room, then one day I got home from school and my aunt was watching a BeyoncĂ© concert and from thereon I fell in love with those type of performance but I didn't dance publicly until Babes Wodumo came to the scene - her movement inspired me so much.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DANCE

INDUSTRY FROM EC TO OTHER PROVINCES?

In other provinces Id say that they're doing a good job at actually  establishing dancers or dance as an independent art form which has been my dream and still is something that I'm planning on doing. The Eastern Cape truly isn't  doing much if  at all for dancers.

CAN WE EXPECT SOME MUSIC FROM YOU?

Maybe in the future.

WHAT IS YOUR PLAN FOR 2021?

Growing my fanbase.

WHEN DID YOU START TAKING DANCING

SERIOUS AND WHY?

I've been dancing my whole life, I started taking it seriously when I danced for the first time in front of a huge crowd at my former high school, I had always thought about being a professional performer but I was always afraid of doing it in front of people, but when I did dance for them for the very first time in my head I took it as a performance and when I got their feedback I was amplified.

WAS DANCING ALWAYS A DREAM?

Performing was always a dream, it didn't matter what I did but I'd  always imagine myself in front of a crowd it didn't matter if it was singing, dancing or whatever but then I guess you could say I found that my niche is DANCE.

LGBTQI+ PEOPLE BEING HATED AND KILLED

IS A SERIOUS THING IN SA

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN VIOLATED INSIDE THE

INDUSTRY FOR WHO YOU ARE?

I have, mostly indirectly though dancers are already undermined, its worse when you are gay.

WORDS YOU WISH YOU'VE HEARD 5 YEARS AGO?

"You're a big deal, you're worth every cent you charge.
